IIUSA

Excellence in Information Technology Education

Jeania KimbroughAbout Jeania Kimbrough

With a B.A. in English from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from Northern Arizona University, I first started teaching in the early 1990s. Around the same time the Internet became more widely used in academic institutions and I became fascinated with its implications and capabilities for changing the way we communicate, do our jobs and live. I was awarded grants within my work to study and implement the integration of technology into teaching and this interest led to my second Masters Degree in Communications and Information Studies from Rutgers University. I started working with technology teaching programs in the late 1990s, and in 2001, I co-founded IIUSA.

Interests

Aside from the obvious interest in technology. I also love to learn more about other cultures and have lived and/or traveled in over 20 different countries. When I am not working at IIUSA, I am usually trying to work on various house projects for my historic home; taking a hike, run, or yoga class; reading Web blogs; watching political talk shows; listening to jazz; or trying to find a creative outlet through writing, drawing or cooking.
